During the National Small Business Week, an estimated 27.2 million small businesses are honored in America.  Small businesses are major contributors to the strength of the American economy.  They also create 60-80% of new jobs in the country.  Small businesses drive innovation, create 21st century jobs and increase US competitiveness.  In support of the National Small Business Week, the Johns Creek Business Association will honor the top small businesses in the greater Johns Creek area at the Champion of Business Awards on Tuesday, February 15, 2011.

Criteria

  • Nominee businesses must be:
    A JCBA member in good standing as of March 31, 2010.
    Have been in business at least three (3) years.
  • Nominee business professionals must be:
    An employee of a JCBA Member in good standing as of March 31, 2010.
    Nominee's business must have been in business at least three (3) years.

Award Categories (Click on each award name to download the application.)

1. Small Business Champion of the Year (Less than 25 employees) - $1,000
A substantiated history as an established business for three or more years with no more than 25 employees demonstrating innovation, resourcefulness, and creativity in response to adversity, evidence of growth or expansion.

2.  Mid-Large Business Champion of the Year (Over 25 employees) - $1,000
A substantiated history as an established business for three or more years with more than 25 employees demonstrating innovation, resourcefulness, and creativity in response to adversity, evidence of growth or expansion.

3.  Business Enrichment Professional of the Year - $250
A business professional that has taken the liberty to advance and enrich his or her professional background by seeking certifications, industry credentials, advanced education degrees as well as sought or earned industry awards and has applied earnings toward the betterment of the business and industry in turn growing and expanding the company to new heights.

4.  Community Outreach Professional of the Year - $250
A business professional that has demonstrated leadership with respect to community outreach projects either on behalf of the company or individually.  This individual will be highly involved and visible in community events, non-profit functions and non-profit organizations to help make the Johns Creek community a better place in which to live, work and thrive.

5.  Altruistic Business Champion of the Year - $500
A small, mid or large sized business that has demonstrated leadership with respect to community outreach projects.  This company will be highly involved and visible in community events, non-profit functions and non-profit organziations to help make the Johns Creek community a better place in which to live, work and thrive.  The Champion Business may be involved in a variety of non-profit functions or may have adopted one particular cause as their business foundation.
